How does Sunholm select and screen its caregivers?
Every caregiver goes through a thorough background check, reference verification, and an in-person interview with our care coordinator. We assess not only professional skills but also temperament and patience — qualities we consider just as important for working with seniors.
Can I meet the caregiver before the service begins?
Yes, and we encourage it. An initial meeting between the senior, the family, and the assigned caregiver helps establish comfort and allows everyone to ask questions. If the fit doesn't feel right, we work to find a better match before care begins in earnest.
What happens if the regular caregiver is unavailable?
We maintain a pool of experienced backup caregivers who are familiar with our approach and standards. When the primary caregiver is unavailable, we notify the family in advance and arrange a substitute who has been briefed on the senior's needs and preferences.
How are care schedules arranged and adjusted?
Care schedules are agreed upon during an initial consultation and built around the senior's existing routine. As needs evolve — which they often do — we hold regular check-ins with the family to review and adjust the plan without disruption to the senior.
What is the service coverage area in Taipei?
Our primary service area covers Daan District and the surrounding central Taipei neighborhoods. For families located slightly further out, we encourage an initial enquiry — we do our best to accommodate where possible and may have caregivers already operating in your area.
How are billing and payments handled?
Invoices are issued monthly, with payment accepted by bank transfer. Before any service begins, we provide a written summary of the agreed scope and pricing so there are no surprises. We are happy to walk through the cost breakdown during your initial consultation.
