About Sunholm
Rooted in Respect,
Guided by Care
We began with a simple belief โ that growing older at home, surrounded by familiar things and people who genuinely care, is something every family deserves access to.

How Sunholm Came to Be
Sunholm was established in Taipei's Daan District by a small group of care professionals who had each, in their own way, navigated the challenge of supporting an aging parent from within a busy family. What they found โ in their personal experience and through years working in senior support roles โ was that the options available often felt impersonal, rigid, or simply not suited to how older adults in Taiwan actually live and wish to be cared for.
The name Sunholm was chosen deliberately. It evokes warmth, steadiness, and the feeling of a home that receives light. Those qualities guide every decision we make โ from how we recruit our caregivers to how we structure a care plan, and from how we speak with families to how we adapt as a senior's needs change over time.
We operate with a small, carefully selected team. This is not an accident. It allows us to know each caregiver well, to match them thoughtfully with the people they support, and to maintain a standard of attentiveness that larger operations can rarely sustain.
Our Mission
To help seniors in Taipei remain at home โ safe, comfortable, and connected โ by providing care that is as personal as it is professional.
Our Vision
A Taipei where no family has to choose between professional care quality and the warmth of a familiar home environment.
Our Values
Dignity, patience, honesty, and continuity. We believe that good care is built on consistent, trusted relationships โ not interchangeable staff and standardised routines.

How We Work
Our Quality Standards
The practices we hold ourselves to โ consistently, across every care arrangement we manage.
Thorough Caregiver Vetting
Every caregiver undergoes background checks, reference verification, and an in-person assessment before being placed with any family.
Personalised Care Planning
Each arrangement begins with a detailed needs assessment. Care plans are documented, shared with the family, and revisited regularly.
Safety Protocols
Home safety assessments are conducted as part of onboarding. Caregivers are trained in fall prevention, emergency response, and safe mobility assistance.
Privacy and Discretion
All caregivers sign confidentiality agreements. Personal information about the senior and their household is handled with the same respect we bring to every aspect of care.
Regular Review Cycle
Families receive updates on a schedule agreed at the outset. Formal care reviews are conducted quarterly or more often if needs change.
Open Family Communication
We maintain a clear, accessible line between families and our coordination team. Questions and concerns are addressed directly โ never deflected or delayed.
Our Expertise
Experience in Senior Home Support Across Taipei
In-home care for older adults is a field that demands patience, practical skill, and genuine attentiveness to each individual's rhythm. At Sunholm, our team has accumulated this experience across a range of senior living situations โ from independent seniors who want occasional household support, to families managing more complex daily care needs within a residential home setting.
Daan District, where Sunholm is based, sits within one of Taipei's most established residential communities. Families in this part of the city often have deep local ties and strong preferences about how life at home should feel. Our coordinators are familiar with the neighbourhood, its temples, parks, and community resources โ and this knowledge helps us plan care arrangements that extend naturally into the senior's existing world rather than replacing it.
The care landscape in Taiwan has evolved considerably over the past decade, with more families seeking alternatives to institutional settings. Sunholm was built precisely to serve this preference โ offering the consistency and professional standards associated with formal care, combined with the warmth and adaptability that only a genuinely home-based service can provide. Our work does not begin and end at the door; it extends into how we understand each person, support their preferences, and communicate honestly with the people who love them.
